Background History of the Commodity Chain
L'Herbier was created in 1979 in the city of Vachères en Quint, in the district of Diois and in the Drôme region from a single farm "GAEC les Tourettes". A pioneer in biological agriculture of aromatic and health plants of the region, L'Herbier du Diois has always maintained its position of leader in the commodity chain and purchase of limetree to the company never stopped. Competition of limetree originating from Eastern Europe at a very low cost confirmed L'Herbier du Diois in its support to the chain. This support, therefore, is an old one.
Description of the partnership
The partnership results in various common actions: meetings with the pickers, transparency on prices and production costs, stability or increase of volumes and of purchase price, long term commitments. This is also a technical partnership, and discussions remain open on support needs. Measures are taken at all levels to improve quality: awareness of pickers, analysis carried out on the products.
